Inside the Club: Leadership & Logistics
The 2025 Board remains active with key roles listed: Chair, Treasurer, Webmaster, Charity Coordinators, Cruise Directors, etc. Members are reminded that business meetings are held monthly (3rd Tuesday, 6:30 PM, at Bass Pro Shops Conservation Room).
Members who have not yet paid 2026 dues should mail their payment to P.O. Box 217, Wrentham, MA 02093 if they cannot attend the December 16 meeting.
Winter Is Here — Time for Car Care
With the driving season winding down, the club encourages members to use the winter months for maintenance and upgrades:
- Add a gas stabilizer before storing the car.
- Put the battery on a trickle charger.
- Increase tire pressure to better handle temperature fluctuations.
- Clean and detail the car (interior and exterior) — add a coat of wax to prevent rust and preserve chrome and paint.
It’s also a good time to consider small upgrades (e.g., electric cooling fans) or collecting auto-memorabilia for garage display while cars are idle.
Recent Events & Club Highlights
- Club members gathered for a group cruise to Wright’s Farm Restaurant for a “Gathering of Clubs” — 32 members attended the chicken dinner and enjoyed a showcase of vintage vehicles.
- Several antique clubs (especially Model A enthusiasts) showed up with a strong presence.
- Members also cruised to view a member garage/workshop project, staying connected during the off-season.
Charity & Community Support — Strong Finish to 2025
- The club delivered remaining 2025 food-pantry donations ($4,685 each) to Wrentham and Walpole food pantries, just as local needs surged due to SNAP uncertainty.
- The 50–50 raffle and donation proceeds supported: workforce grants for graduating students pursuing automotive trades, the “TOOLS 4 KIDS” program (providing starter tool kits), and support for the Wrentham Development Center.
- Members are invited to donate tools or funds (denoted for “TOOLS 4 KIDS”) to support the program.
Social & Monthly Activities — Cars & Coffee, Projects & More
- The club continues to support Abe’s Garage, which provides space for storage, restoration work, and regular “Cars & Coffee” open houses for enthusiasts working on project builds.
- Recent visitors included restorers, custom-car builders, and hobbyists working on projects like vintage Jeeps and classic muscle cars — a testament to the club’s support for both preserving older cars and fostering a community of active restoration.
Legislative & Hobby Advocacy — Supporting Vintage Car Rights
Through the affiliated MAAC, members of the club testified on behalf of several bills before the state’s Joint Transportation Committee. The bills — including H3685, S2388, H3679, H3686, H3687, H3699 — aim to:
- Provide license plates that show year of manufacture for vintage vehicles,
- Designate highways including U.S. Routes 1, 6 & 20 as Historic Routes (allowing for historic-route signage),
- Establish a “collector license plate” category,
- Offer inspection exemptions for cars 45+ years old.
This highlights the club’s commitment not just to cruising and cars — but to preserving the heritage and rights of vintage-car enthusiasts.
Looking Ahead: January 2026 & Beyond
- The club expects to resume meetings in December for dues and planning.
- The club’s January events page will be posted soon — members should stay tuned via the club website.
- Meanwhile winter maintenance, restoration projects, and “garage time” are encouraged so everyone’s ride is ready when the spring cruise season begins.
