She left MILFORD PA on Monday, entered NY at Port Jervis NY, being hosted in New Hampton-Middletown NY by the Orange Runners Club of Middletown NY. Their President Dane Groszek, several running club members including Jill Tremback and retired NYPD officer and marathon runner Edwin Diaz, who ran 13 miles with Aprylle. Aprylle was also the hosted guest of and spoke at the SEP dinner meeting with the ORANGE RUNNERS CLUB on WED evening SEP 2nd in Middletown NY.
Aprylle was hosted by Ryan Saunders, General Manager,
of the Holiday Inn Express – Lower Huron River, Peekskill NY.
Aprylle was honored to meet Joe Hurley, Author, of “Ten Million Steps”, following his 2004 walk across America along Historic US Route 6 [circa 1911] on SEP 4th and Malerie Yolen-Cohen, Author,
“Stay On Route 6” on SEP 5th. Malerie notes in their photo caption together in Mahopac NY “This slip of a girl Aprylle Dawn (Gilbert) has been running an average of 35 miles a day for months on Route 6 – raising money for at-risk kids – She left Long Beach, CA on May 11 and made it to Mahopac NY today about 260 miles to go to Provincetown MA ”. Aprylle will be hosted by Malerie and her husband Jeff SAT & SUN and Joe and Pat on MON and TUE as Aprylle takes a break each night for some rest. Thank You to Malerie and Jeff and to Joe and Pat – ALL TEAM APRYLLE Supporters!
Aprylle’s RUN ACROSS AMERICA to Provincetown MA (3,652 miles) will be placed in the record books – NO PERSON has ever accomplished this previously. TEAM APRYLLE projects that Aprylle will cross the Finish Line of “Aprylle Gilbert’s Historic Charity Run 2015” along US Route 6 in PROVINCETOWN MA on TUE – SEP 15. NOTE: Aprylle’s personal Facebook page known as “Aprylle Dawn” now has over 5,000 friends and followers.
The GOOD NEWS is that so many are interested in Aprylle, her Mission and Cause for Kids: the bad news is that the Facebook geeks will not allow her to ‘confirm’ any more friends.
We are working on that – know anybody that can help us
