A Happening in Waverly – July 15 & 16, 2017
This is a link to a short video from the 40th annual Camp Creek Antique Machine and Threshing Show in Waverly, Nebraska from 2016. From the Lincoln Journal Star: “Thousands walked into a different decade once they stepped foot on the 77 acres of Threshers’ land, east of Waverly. With more than 400 members, Camp Creek Threshers have been on the mission to keep history thriving. Antique tractors, old time cars, threshing, plowing and corn shelling are everywhere the eye wanders. The two-day event has much more value than just a fun weekend for most members. It’s a representation of the hard work families do to put on the show, their love for the land and the bond families have formed over the years.
Before Camp Creek Threshers existed, they were just neighbors who lived along Camp Creek. The official threshers weren’t born until Ernie Dietze brought home remains of a grain binder. An “afternoon of fun” for the famers turned into a lifestyle.”
